Lucy Inglis: Welcome to Georgian London. My particular interests are the immigrant population and the artisan communities of London during the 18th century, as well as day to day trivia and the more bizarre aspects of London life three centuries ago. The blog covers the period between 1660 and 1836, but Georgian London keeps things nice and simple.

Hidden Cities is a London-based creative producing practice specialising in area-specific Festivals and cultural strategic partnership development. Our festivals and events are designed to develop a more coherent sense of 'area' through public showcasing of cultural practice, and to encourage audiences, both local and those new to the areas we are working in, to engage with an area's culture and local businesses, improving both social and economic dynamics.

THE HOLBORN & ST PANCRAS SECONDARY SCHOOL CAMPAIGN has sprung from the experience of a group of local primary school parents, who have become aware of the urgent need for local secondary school places for their children. We believe that every child deserves a place at a good local secondary school, and that good local schools help build stronger communities.

Holborn Community Association provides a range of core services and special projects to all sections of the local community at our two centres: Bedford House and Millman Street. Friendly, vibrant and inclusive, the centres are open 7 days a weeks throughout the year.

We are here to make Holborn a better place to live, work and visit. Welcome to your local Business Improvement District (BID for short). Established in 2005 with the aim of improving the commercial well-being of the Holborn area, we currently represent the interests of over 480 local businesses.

Lingua Diversa Group (LDG) was formed in 2002 by Esther Sahagun and Lucio Daniele, two language teachers who until then had enjoyed an extensive and fulfilling time in teaching Spanish and Italian to both adults and children. They provide language training in Spanish, Italian, French, German, Russian, English and Portuguese at all levels. Other languages available on request. Unlike other language schools, their groups are very small, min 3 – max 8 students, an ideal number to practise the language as much as possible and interact with the teacher. They run 4 terms a year, each term lasts for 10 weeks. Lessons take place once a week in Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Square, at lunchtime or in the evenings.

The London Festival of Architecture will be a city-wide celebration of architecture in the capital. As London gears up for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games we look at ways that planners, architects and local communities play their part in the development of 'The Welcoming City

Everyone has an interest in health, and visits to London's museums of health and medicine will reveal the fascinating range and diversity of the subject. From rare plants, heart surgery, illuminated manuscripts, and helicopter emergency services, to pharmacies, false teeth and Freud, the exhibits in these museums help to place the history and development of medicine and health care in its widest context. Along the way, they provide some remarkable insights into an age-long campaign against illness, disease and injury.

Nearly half of children in London surveyed say they do not play out as much as they like. We want to change this. A third say they would play out more if it were safer. This is around 10% higher than the UK average. We aim for every child in London to have high quality, accessible and inclusive play opportunities. We campaign for more and improved play spaces and services, and support playwork in the capital.
