If you are misfortunate enough to lose or have any personal items stolen, you are more likely to have them returned to you if you’ve registered them on the free www.imobilise.com database.  This is the site preferred by the police to enable them to check and return your lost or stolen property. It currently contains 27 million accounts.

It is easy to register an account and the guides to registering items such as mobile phones, laptop computers, camera, bicycles etc.  The important detail required is the unique serial number of the item. When officers discover property, they will check the serial number against the National Register.

Mobile phones are perhaps the most common items that is lost or stolen. Every phone or any other device that can connect to a network using a SIM card, such as iPads and Tablet computers, carries a 15 digit unique serial number  - the IMEI number. Careful recording of this number is essential when registering your phone or device

But you can also register jewellery and other valuables. Make sure to include a photo of the item in place of a serial number

Don’t delay, do it now.  It only takes few minutes – plus an extra few searching out the serial and IMEI numbers.
