Holborn Community Association’s second annual 1A Arts summer filmmaking project for local young people aged 13-18 years old is starting soon and places are available! This exciting (and FREE!) project starts on Saturday 18th June (10am-5pm).
You will learn from professional filmmakers all about the filmmaking process, whilst creating your own cinematic-quality short film. If you are aged 13 to 18 years old, join 1A Arts for this amazing short course.
Pre-production sessions will take place at 1A Arts and the Museum of Comedy, and then you will write a script inspired by the collection of the Museum of Comedy. Filming will take place at the Museum of Comedy and the local area. You will be able to experience all the key roles required on a professional film shoot.
Participants will also be given the opportunity to gain their Arts Award during the project. This is a national qualification which encourages creativity, teamwork and leadership skills.
The course starts Saturday 18th June from 10am-5pm at 1A Arts, 1A Rosebery Avenue, EC1R 4SR. It then runs every Saturday after that (to 30th July, pre-production workshops) and is full-time Mon-Fri for the first two weeks of the summer holidays (Mon 25th July-Fri 5th August). Week 1 of the summer holidays will be the intensive film shoot and week 2 will be the editing and post-production period. It's understood that young people may not be able to attend all sessions so a 70% minimum attendance commitment is required.
All workshops are FREE to attend and open to 13- 18 year olds.
The Summer Film Project is funded by BBC Children in Need.
Places are limited and must be booked in advance. To register for a place please contact HCA's 1A Arts ASAP at lesley.pinder@holborncommunity.co.uk
