Camden Transport Strategy Workshop 4th July

events

Tuesday, 3 July 2018 - Tuesday, 3 July 2018
6.30 and 9.30pm
The Mayor of London recently published his Transport Strategy (MTS), which sets out his vision for London for the next 23 years. All London boroughs are statutorily required to produce a Local Implementation Plan (LIP) to demonstrate how they will help to deliver the MTS locally alongside their own priorities.

Producing a LIP is also part of the process for how Transport for London (TfL) provides annual funding to London boroughs. This means Camden’s LIP must include a three year delivery plan which shows how this funding will be spent, in line with the Mayor of London’s priorities.

Camden’s latest draft LIP (LIP 3) must be submitted to TfL for their comments by the end of October 2018, to be effective from next financial year, 2019/20.

Camden’s current LIP (LIP2) is part of a broader Camden Transport Strategy which provides the basis for all transport projects in the borough. This strategy, which was published in 2011, is now seven years old. The borough, and indeed London, have changed significantly since then, bringing new challenges as well as opportunities.

To reflect these changes, Camden officers are preparing a new Transport Strategy (which will include key themes from the LIP). The strategy will better reflect and respond to the changing transport and policy environment, including delivering Camden’s priorities set out in the new Camden Plan.

To help shape this new strategy Camden is engaging with  partners and colleagues from across the council. They would also like to get the views from  residents to help inform the plans.

Camden invite you to a workshop event which will take place on Wednesday 4 July between 6.30 and 9.30pm at Friends House. The event will include a presentation by Camden’s Cabinet Member for Improving Camden’s Environment, Cllr Adam Harrison, followed by a brief Q&A session, with the remainder of the time allocated to workshop type group discussions.

Your input will be documented and written up in a report which will accompany Camden's draft LIP submission to TfL in October 2018.
We look forward to hearing your input at the event.
