On Friday and Saturday the Mount Pleasant Association we will be hosting a series of public workshops designed to gather information from local residents and inform the community about our programme for an alternative scheme for Mount Pleasant. It is essential that we get as many people as possible to come and give their views, so please spread the word to your neighbours, friends and colleagues in the local area.
The format of the event will be as follows (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY):
Margery Street Community Hall
Friday 21st November - 10am-1pm & 4pm-7.30pm
Drop-in sessions for local residents and businesses to help complete our local knowledge before taking our Mount Pleasant proposals to the next stage.
At 5pm, Brady Mallalieu Architects will present the new designs for Charles Simmons House (opposite Holiday Inn).
Saturday 22nd November - 10am-1.30pm
Workshop session (20 minute breakfast of tea/coffee and croissants provided from 10am) for local residents and businesses to share stories about the area and discuss key themes for Mount Pleasant that could steer development proposals, including:
1) The preferred range of uses and the best mix of housing types and sizes
2) Local movement patterns (routes and desire lines)
3) A new piece of city: new development, streets, spaces and how it can be incorporated into the wider neighbourhood
At the end of the workshop participants will be invited to share stories about Mount Pleasant (2 minutes each) which will be recorded and contribute to the narrative behind the proposals for Mount Pleasant as they develop.
This is your chance to participate in the neighbourhood’s plans, so please spare some time to come along and spread the word to as many people as you can.
