Met Police Taser Presentation

events

Thursday, 9 March 2017 - Thursday, 9 March 2017
7pm

The Met Police are holding a presentation (not a demonstration) on the use of Taser.

You’ll see an informative PowerPoint which contains video of real incident, technical information about the taser itself and its use by police. The presentation is by experienced SCO&19 officers, some of whom are National Firearms Instructors and have a wealth of experience of Taser both operational and in training.

After the presentation there will be a Q&A session and the chance to explore the issues that are close to the hearts of the communities of London.

This is a Met Police event, entry is free but please confirm attendance. Click this link to email Sgt Matt Britnell.

HV says you make like to know that the TASER was developed by ex NASA scientist, Jack Cover. He named after a science fiction novel from his childhood. TASER is an acronym for ‘Tom Swift and his Electric Rifle’, a novel published in 1911.

If you’ve got 20mins to spare, here’s a very interesting podcast about the history, social contact and development of the Taser.
