London's Burning – A City Transformed with Jo

Explore the many times that London has faced destruction, only to rise again from the ashes.

This is one of the regular walks which official City of London guides take turns at leading.

There is no need to book. Meet outside the City of London Visitors' Information Centre, EC4M 8BX (southside of St Paul's Cathedral) and pay on the day. £7 adults / £6 concessions.

 

Lost & Found – Bloomsbury with Jo

Bloomsbury has many close associations with children and young people, in both fact and fiction. Islington Pride – 50 Years of LGBT History with Karen

Wednesday 9th August at 2pm

This walk commemorates the 50th anniversaries of the death of Joe Orton on 9th August and the 1967 Sexual Offences Act which came into force on 27th July.

Orton's local pub, the gathering point for the UK's first gay rally and the former home of a member of the extraordinary Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are just a few of the venues featured on this fascinating walk.
