Inmidtown Free Walks

events

Monday, 3 October 2011 - Monday, 31 October 2011

There's no better way to explore any district than on foot.

Inmidtown run a year-round programme of over 50 different free walks exploring Bloomsbury, St Giles and Holborn, led by their unfailingly knowledgeable guide, Aly Mir. Entertaining and inspiring by turns, their subjects cover everything from the area's literary and political history to its criminal and musical past, all in less than an hour.

Wallks at lunchtime starting from Holborn Tube station. Check the link below for details.

Here is a short selection:

Knights Templar
: This ancient order set up its first English base in Holborn before moving to the New Temple Church (as featured in The Da Vinci Code).

Midtown Buzz: London's bees are famous for the high quality of their honey. Find out about inmidtown's work to encourage our city's bees. Our walk ends with a visit to Bedford Square to see one of inmidtown's hives.

Sssspooky Stories: This walk visits spooky sites, inlcuding the place haunted by Lord Nelson's ghost, a theatre where something fishy is going on, and the building where strange things happen to the lifts at night.

Haunted Holborn: Visit ghostly sites for Halloween. Our spooky stories include the haunting of a local pub, the ghost of an Egyptian Mummy, and the haunting of one of Holborn's oldest buildings.
