Sunday, 27 June 2010
10.00am to 3.00pm
The ride ALL around Camden is a 22-mile summer bike ride. The route explores all 18 wards in Camden and gives you the chance to enjoy some of the borough's wonderful sights and scenery.
It's a free friendly ride – and there's no need to enter – simply turn up on the day with your bike!
When and where?
We will be meeting from 10 am on Sunday 27 June 2010 in Bidborough Street, behind Camden Town Hall, south of St Pancras Station. Come along at 9.30am if you'd like to have your bike checked.
The ride will begin PROMPTLY at 10.30am and should finish at Hampstead Old Town Hall on Haverstock Hill by about 3.00pm.
Who is the ride suitable for?
We welcome people with a range of cycling abilities to take part, however you must feel comfortable cycling on busy roads and as part of a group. Children under 16 must be under strict parental supervision.
Volunteers from London Cycling Campaign, Camden will lead and steward. Inevitably we will encounter heavy traffic on some parts of the route. We will cycle at a very leisurely pace to keep the whole group together.
Where does the route go?
The route will follow Camden's borough boundary line with its neighbouring boroughs. After the first 11 miles we will break at Golders Hill Park's Refreshment House, where you can buy lunch – or you could bring a picnic.
We cycle the entire 17-mile perimeter of Camden, before turning north towards Hampstead. The ride will finish at Hampstead Old Town Hall on Haverstock Hill – a total of 22 miles.
What should I bring?
Please bring plenty of water, snacks for along the way and a bike lock. Wear suitable clothing for cycling and for the weather on the day.
Come along on the Sunday morning 27 June or call 020 7485 5896 for more information.
