Gresham Professors will be discussing topics ranging from the Maths behind the Movies to how good Safety-Critical software systems really are, the challenges of Air Pollution, and what we know about Sudden Death in the Young.
Invited guest speakers this month include Associate Professor Juliet Shields from Seattle, on whether Sir Walter Scott invented Scotland, where she explores alternative national identities in literature that Scotland could adopt; and Professor Simon Salamon, on using maths to take the perfect picture of Battersea Power Station. Also back with us, providing a refreshingly dark view of the natural world, is Professor Steve Jones with Cheats, Liars and Fornicators: The Hidden Face of Mother Nature.
More details about all these and other lectures are available on the Gresham College website.
