Chief Superintendent John Sutherland, Camden's most senior policeman, will talk about leadership, the joys and challenges of policing our streets, and about his Christian faith.

John Sutherland joined the Metropolitan Police Service in September 1992.
As a probationer Mr Sutherland began his career at Westminster and Lambeth as a Police Constable. He was then promoted to Sergeant and moved to Peckham - later transferring to work at Lewisham as Detective Sergeant. Enjoying the investigation side of things, he then got promoted to Detective Inspector at New Scotland Yard.
Moving on again, Mr Sutherland's next port of call was as an Inspector at Hammersmith and Fulham. Here he got promoted to Chief Inspector - spending a year at New Scotland Yard, before returning to Hammersmith & Fulham to take responsibility for local neighbourhood policing.. He then moved on to work in Islington and was promoted to Superintendent.
Mr Sutherland has gained lots of experience during his 18 year career. During his time at New Scotland Yard he spent a year as Staff Officer to the then Commissioner Sir John Stevens. He has also been Football Match Commander at 3 Premiership clubs: Arsenal, Chelsea and Fulham.
Mr Sutherland is also a member of the MPS Hostage and Crisis Negotiators cadre.
During his time in Islington, Mr Sutherland worked with MTV to develop the 'Pimp my Riot Van' programme - which produced a mobile recording studio for the use of a London-based youth charity.
He is also a member of the Centre for Social Justice National Working Group on Youth Justice.
In October 2010 Mr Sutherland was promoted to Chief Superintendent and joined Camden police as Borough Commander.
