The Mount Pleasant Association and Christopher Hatton Primary school have co-ordinated their summer fairs so that they're on the same day at the same time.
Christopher Hatton's ever popular fund-raiser includes, stalls, food, drink and music, with prizes to be won. Just ouside the school on the triangle of land and with Phoenix Place and Mount Pleasant closed to traffic, is 'Our Mount Pleasant'. You'll be able to slide down the bouncy slide, draw in chalk on the pavement, and examine the community exhibition - the community's plans for Mount Pleasant.
Come along and show your support for the community. The streets will be closed. There will be an exhibition showing the work you have contributed to in the process of challenging the proposed scheme as well as a celebration of what Mount Pleasant could be like if the community had their say.
The school children have been working extremely hard analysing the site, making plans and models, writing to Boris Johnson and have produced the most amazing film, which will be screened throughout the day.
Please also let the Mount Pleasant Association know if you can help out as a volunteer for some of the afternoon - many hands make light work and we need all the help we can get. The local community's attempts to positively engage with this scheme have been exemplary and this event will be a wonderful way to celebrate everyone's efforts before the mayor makes his decision 'this summer.'
Tell your friends, neighbours and family and make sure you bring as many people as possible on the day.
